The Ladue Rams Boys Swimming & Diving Team hit the road for a non-conference tri-meet on Tuesday, October 1st against two traditionally powerful teams: the Class 1 Lafayette Lancers and the #1 ranked Class 2 Chaminade Red Devils who are the favorites to take the gold medal at State. In a highly competitive meet, fresh from the brilliant performances during the Lindbergh Invite the weekend before, the Rams took care of business, finishing 2nd with 93 points as Chaminade handily won the meet with 146 and Lafayette was 3rd with 68. Having beaten the Lancers, the Rams are now on top of the Red Conference with a 4-0 record, 2-1-0 in tri-meets, and 2-2 overall in dual meets. As predicted, the Rams had no event wins as Chaminade won 11 events out of the 12, with Lafayette winning one. The individual Rams who scored in 2nd-6th places using tri-meet scoring included JR Kevin He (4th 200 free, 5th 100 free), SO Alvin He (6th 200 free), SO Dravya Pradhan (2nd 200 IM, 2nd 100 fly), FR Kelson Cui (3rd 200 IM, 3rd 100 breast), JR co-captain Kevin Wu (3rd 50 free, 3rd 100 back), SR co-captain Arlo Ziolkowski (4th 50 free, 3rd 100 free), JR Luther Ciorba (2nd 1M diving), JR Eliot Levine (4th 100 fly), FR Reed Sehy (4th 500 free), FR Teddy Levine (5th 500 free), SR Sam Etherington (4th 100 back), and SO Jinghuan Xu (5th 100 breast). Both free relays for the Rams grabbed 2nd places behind Chaminade, who swept the A relays. The 200 free was Eliot Levine, Kevin He, Alvin He and SO Max Bending while the 400 free was Ziolkowski, Pradhan, Kevin He and Wu. The A medley relay of Wu, Cui, Pradhan, and Ziolkowski for the Rams took 3rd. The B relays did well, with the 400 free of Eliot Levine, Bending, Sehy, and Alvin He taking 3rd, while the 200 medley of Etherington, Xu, Eliot Levine and Bending took 4th, and the 200 free of Xu, FR Ray Blum, SR co-captain Frank Tian, and SR Carson Crane finished 6th. All in all, the relays scored 44 points, nearly half the total for the Rams. The Rams continue their October schedule by hosting a non-conference tri-meet with Pattonville and Ft. Zumwalt East on Tuesday the 6th and then traveling to Parkway South for their final Red conference dual meet on Thursday the 8th. See the Ladue Activities website for details. GO RAMS!
