Meet the LHWHS Athletic Trainers

Kelsey Towey, ATC, LAT

  • Kelsey was born and raised in St. Louis before going to University of Central Missouri where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. 
  • She has been working as the Head Athletic Trainer at Ladue since 2014 and absolutely loves every minute of it!
  • Her primary focus is coverage for all sports practices and competitions that take place at the High School’s main campus, with the exception of coverage for both home and away varsity football games. 
  • Typical hours are M-F 1:00pm till the end of practices/competitions that day and any weekend home competitions. 
  • Kelsey allows herself to be available at all times via phone call, text or email about any questions or concerns involving the student athletes health. 
  • Kelsey’s philosophy: 
    • Education Student Athletes about their injuries and how to not only care for current injuries, but how to take care of their bodies to prevent further injuries in order to perform to the best of their abilities. 

Nathan Wilmes, MEd, ATC, CSCS

  • Born and raised in Wentzville, MO. Attended Lindenwood University on an indoor/outdoor Track and Field Scholarship. Received a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, and Human Service Agency Management. Then attended UM-St.Louis and received a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science.  
  • Professional experiences include working with the Saint Louis Steamers, Saint Louis Quest, and summer stints working at the US Olympic Training Centers 
  • He was Director of Outreach Athletic Trainer services for 17 years before making the switch to Mercy Sports Medicine.
  • He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
  • He provides administrative and clinical support for the Mercy Sports Medicine clinic, located on Emerson Road in Creve Coeur.
  • His primary focus is West Campus (aka Fifth Grade Center) medical coverage for all fall and spring sports practices and competitions.
  • Typical hours are Monday-Friday 2:30pm until the completion of practices and competitions for that day.
  • Nate is available at all times via phone call, text or email about any questions or concerns involving the student- athletes health.
